100%
organic cotton.
The original technical fabric
Sportswear
brands have cunningly reinvented Polyester, that horrible man-made
stuff from the 1970's, by marketing it as 'technical'.
They
love it because it's ok at wicking away sweat, it dries quickly
and above all it's really, really cheap (which means they make
more money).
But
petroleum-derived fabrics like Polyester don't provide the same
ventilation as natural fibres and they soon begin to smell.
Manufacturers
try to prevent this by bunging-in even more chemicals, so called
anti-microbials, but it's ultimately a losing battle.
Cotton,
on the other hand, is a natural fibre. It produces a very soft,
flexible and breathable fabric which is durable and tolerates
repeated washing.
Due
to cotton's unique fibre structure, it permits air to circulate
and helps remove body moisture by absorbing it and wicking it
away from the skin. This effect is amplified by our polo shirts'
pique 'honeycomb' weave.
And
provided that it is organic cotton, no nasty chemicals are used
in its production.
Anyone
for a stinky,
polyester "oil-slick" polo?
